My History:
Born in Greenfield Indiana I spent a lot of my elementary days drawing and painting. Oh yes, fingerpaints were a must! I loved my art classes. During high school at Greenfield Central I took art classes from grades 9-12. I was also a member of the National Art Honors Society. One of my most enjoyable moments was displaying my paintings at a national high school art show at the Sears Tower in Chicago. One of my oil paintings won first place! Michelangelo would be proud!
A couple years after high school I was walking on the beach of Lake Michigan on a cold and windy April afternoon. The blue-green waves were cresting high and crashing white on the beach. The sky was filled with the color of aquamarine. I walked just past a long pier with a turn of the century lighthouse sitting on the end of the pier. I was carrying an old Canon point and click. I looked down the pier through the view finder and pressed the shutter button. That picture I took is still one of my favorites! I was hooked. Seventeen years later I am thrilled that people enjoy looking at my pictures as much as I enjoy creating them.
My Style:
It would be difficult for me to pinpoint one specific style that defines my photos. There are so many different ones that I like. I find that I relate my shooting to oil painting. I shoot (paint) what is pleasing to my eye. Using different angels and lenses (my brushes and oil paints) I frame and shoot and image or event that I like.
Its What I Like:
First my wife and daughters. They fill my life fun and/or chaos! Both are entertaining! Second if it has to do with history Im interested. I would consider myself a history nut. Perhaps it runs in my blood. My great, great, great, etc..grandfather was John Adams. You know, the 2nd president. How interesting his son John Quincy Adams was the first president to get his photograph taken.
I also enjoy watching great movies with my gorgeous wife by our fireplace. Soo relaxing.
